Wednesday evening, we were allowed to stay up a few minutes past bed time to watch the total lunar eclipse.
This was the same eclipse that helped Columbus on one of his return trips to the New World. He and his crew had landed on an island, and they were completely out of supplies. The islanders refused to give them anything. Columbus had been reading a book that predicted a lunar eclipse for the following evening, so he told the islanders that if they continued to refuse the provisions, he would make the moon disappear. Well, the next night was the eclipse, and the islanders begged for their moon back. So, Columbus and his men got their supplies and the islanders got their moon!

Winter Bible Conference
Yesterday was the first day of our annual winter Bible Conference here at Dublin Christian Academy. Basically, we bring a camp-like atmosphere to school. The kids get out of classes for a couple of days, and they go to chapel, games, team meetings, and evening services instead. This year, our guest speaker is Evangelist Keven Brownfield. He has already brought some powerful messages, and the students (and faculty staff) are excited to hear what all the Lord has for him to teach us. Tomorrow night, though will be a special concert from the SMS men's group.
